EXHIBITION #4 // LONDON, 2011

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

In September 2011, The Museum of Everything opened Exhibition #4 at Selfridges. The first global survey of progressive studios for self-taught artists across the planet, Exhibition #4 featured 500 works across 35,000 sft, including all the windows along Oxford Street, the entire Ultralounge exhibition space and The Shop of Everything, where a vast range of books, prints and clothing celebrated the work of the artists in the show.

With over 100,000 visitors over 10 weeks, Exhibition #4 proved the most successful show in the history of both museum and store, with substantial media coverage (click here) acknowledging it as a highlight of Frieze 2011. An additional show, Exhibition #4.1, curated 55 works by the celebrated American artist Judith Scott in the former Selfridges Hotel. Her powerful life-story was told on BBC2's The Culture Show, the first time any self-taught artist has been presented by this leading arts programme.
